About Me

"All good things are wild and free."

Walking, Henry David Thoreau

McKenzie Janet Perkins

I’m a dreamer, an achiever, an intellectual, and an explorer. I love to travel, and I believe that there are few things in this world as powerful as a good story paired with a cup of tea. I live by imagination and spontaneity, by hope and passion. I'm currently studying media productions at college, and I'm working every day to afford to explore and share my discoveries with the girl sitting at home, scrolling through the Pinterest travel section.  The world she has only dreamed of is real; it exists, and it's okay to have an insatiable desire to explore it.

Thoreau's quote, after which this space was named, permeates popular culture, something he would probably be ashamed of should he still be living today. His discussion about wildness and freedom, found here, demonizes material modernization. That is not the origin behind the creation of this space. I created it, instead, with the notion that wild and free do not have to be Thoreau's wild and free in order to be right. Perhaps it is more important to remove all expectations and discover where your passion lies, and to throw yourself into it entirely. It's about the freedom to pursue your wildest dreams, whatever they maybe be, because life is too short for wishful thinking.
